This project has been making the rounds in retro circles the past few weeks. It's trying to be the "one arcade stick to rule them all" with high quality arcade parts and swappable cables that allow it to connect to different consoles.
It started out with just USB and Dreamcast support (including a built-in backlit VMU), but as they've crossed certain stretch goals, they've added support for a number of other older platforms, including the Saturn and Neo Geo. They just posted a new list of stretch goals that covers other retro platforms that are less popular for arcade ports. I doubt they're going to double their money in two days, though, which is what it'd take to make those goals relevant.
I'm interested in this project because arcade sticks are big and clunky, and I'd love to consolidate the two I have in rotation. So far, I've heard nothing but praise for the project and the parts being used.
What does everyone else think, especially if you use an arcade stick often?

I have a Mayflash which uses Arcade parts, and adapters for ps1/2, Dreamcast and Saturn.
I don't think I really need it for anything older than that. And I'm sure I could get a gamecube adapter if there were more than like 3 fighting games on that system

This is the one I have. Currently $150 at amazon The adapters are Brook adapters and those typically run about $40 each (ps1/2 is one adapter, DC/sat is one adapter).
So my setup is $230ish. Looks like their cyber weekend option is $250 after shipping costs. So comparable.
If it's comparable quality, the octopus looks like it is a great stick for a fair price (unless all those adapter cables are a separate charge).
I also have a couple of F300 sticks which are not Arcade quality but still decent. I bring those for people to use at conventions and they aren't broken yet!

They're saying that backers get an adapter for every supported platform at launch. I had the same concern.

Yeah, like I said the price seems fair for what you get then.
It's not necessarily a better choice than a hori RAP or a Mayflash, just depends on your needs. If you don't need adapters for those retro systems, straight USB is fine.
If all those adapters make you happy, they just crossed $100k for neogeo and looks like they might get $110k for ps1/ps2 so that has most of your arcade gaming bases covered (they already have dreamcast, saturn, OG Xbox and 360, and PS3-PS5).
The only major modern omission is Xbox One and Series consoles, but you can thank Microsoft for a recent update that detects and disables non-licensed 3rd party peripherals for that.

Just got another update email.
The campaign is over, officially. They came in just under the PS1/PS2 support stretch goal, so they're adding that to the compatibility list.
They're going to continue to take orders through the end of the month and count those proceeds towards the remaining stretch goals. The next tier on the list is NES & SNES compatibility, with PC Engine after that.
It's nice to see all the support. Hopefully it's all for real. *nervous laugh*
