Last of Us Part 2 Remastered - $10 upgrade is quite nice. I never did finish this, great time to revisit.
Although the $10 upgrade is for the ps4 version though yeah? Meaning you still gotta dish out the full $50 if you want the ps5 version.
Snagged the collector's edition.

I've owned this on PS4 for a few years now but haven't played it. I guess when I do finally play it, it'd make more sense to just do the $10 upgrade. I'd like to get the PS5 remake of the first game before I start this one though.

$10 to upgrade is great. $50 for the full game isn't too bad either. I am a physical collector, so will probably wait until it is around $20 to snag it.

I'll be the first in this thread to say games that were released in 2020 don't need remasters.

Agreed! Definitely doesn’t need a remaster and I don’t see myself replaying the main game anytime soon. But an extra $10 for the new roguelike mode they’ve added? I think I can swing that. Watched some footage this morning and it looks really good!

This is my favorite game, and I love roguelikes. For $10 to upgrade and get a roguelike mode is a no-brainer for me.

Does that mean you wont be buying Spider-Man 2 Remastered almost Game of the Year edition in February?

This is 100% going to be a launch PS6 game lol.

I got TLOU2 last year around this time for $10 and enjoyed it. I don't think it's as replayable as TLOU because of how hefty the narrative is though. If you've never played it, grabbing a used PS4 copy and just paying $10 to upgrade is well worth it.
But I don't want or need to play through this one again for a few years. It's great but it already looked and played nicely and having played Part 1 a few months ago and also watching the HBO show...I'm a little fatigued by how much milking they are doing to this franchise.

This was a good move by Naughty Dog. Focus on single player. I personally have zero interest in LoU online but I'd assume many others would.

I was under the impression that the $10 upgrade nets you the PS5 version with all changes and bonuses.
I literally repurchased a physical version so I could buy the upgrade and finally finish the game with the PS5 upgrades next year.

On the one hand, I'm glad that Naughty Dog is not going to go all-in on live service stuff, as I love their games. On the other hand, the TLOU multiplayer mode was one of the most fun I've played, and I would have loved to have seen a smaller version of Factions as a DLC to TLOUII.

It does. If you pop in the PS4 disc you can upgrade to the PS5 version for $10 (like Uncharted 4, Wreckfest, etc.).

I would not expect an in-progress PS4 save to work in the new version. But who knows.

Oh I'm planning on restarting it anyway. I don't like jumping back into the middle of a game.

Did the first Last of Us have a $10 upgrade path? I have the PS5 version, and kind of want to get the PS5 version of Part II even though I have it on PS4, mainly want it for looks... I suppose though I can wait on that until I can find a cheap copy.

Huh, they must have listened to the backlash then. Nice to see a cheaper upgrade path if you want it.

I don't think it's so much from backlash, it's from remastering a game that is only 3 years old.
TLOU backlash was more about remaking a game that had been remastered already. And had been released on 3 diff generations. That's way too much milking.
