"RULES"
1. Respect each other and the gamekeeper(s) - this activity is a gift to the community, and jerks kill the fun. 2. Beat games. Proof is NOT required via an image, but lying is lame and you won't win anything for beating the most games. All you get is bragging rights. 3. It doesn't matter when you started the game - as long as you finish it this year, it counts. However, you cannot load up a finished save file and refight the final boss to get a clear. 4. If you beat a game and then post about it in the next calendar month, I will count that toward the current month. It gets convoluted trying to edit past documents, so remember that when playing. 5. DLC campaigns can count as a single clear for their respective game, so beating The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Champion's Ballad counts as two clears: BOTW and BOTW DLC. Any further DLC completed for that game will be lumped into the first campaign. 6. If you are interested in badges, when you beat a game for one, include something like 'Counts towards badge X' OR 'Earns me badge X, first game was Y.' One particular badge requires proof to obtain, however. 7. All participating past gamekeepers are thanked with a medal: image |

I also appreciate the effort and time you put into this. It's motivated me to try all sorts of games I wouldn't otherwise (and to stick with games that I might have given up on previously). Also, I just picked up an Anbernic RG35XX. Could I add it to my console list please?
Thanks. Do you mind if I classify it under Evercade? That’s a similar system to my knowledge.

My #27 is Horizon: Zero Dawn.
https://imgbox.com/G...
I tried playing this a few times before giving it another shot and finally ended up liking it. Dialog is strange and the eye movements of characters is crazy. Fun game. Going to see if I can finish the DLC before Diablo 4 retail release. 8/10

Enchanted 2
I beat the first game in this series a few years ago apparently as they reused some assets and a few times I thought wait, did I play this before, but it was different. It's a stupid here's a scene/room, find something in it and use that in another scene/room to open this or solve that simple puzzle and on and on. Took me like an hour after I finally uninstalled Mighty Doom off my phone as I'm just done with it. So I was looking on my phone for something else to play and this fit that bill.
Game was simple and quick and there's apparently at least a 3rd in the over-arching story but I do not care and won't be bothered with that.
I'm in the midst of playing a handful of titles, but am thinking I won't complete a few like Serious Sam 4 and Chorus - both I started and are leaving GP in ~10 days and I'm not motivated to complete them. SS4 is more of the same mediocre Serious Sam stuff that gets tiring running in reverse circles away from all of the overly aggressive and bullet sponge enemies. 10+ years ago I didn't mind it, but after a session yesterday, it sucked to be in the 3rd mission and feel so powerless and low on ammo all the time. Chorus was pretty good, though the story was meh, but I wasn't nailing the controls early on and it's apparently a longer game and I don't think I'll get enough time the to complete it, not when I'm also more engaged in some other things and titles.

I beat Pikmin 3 in four days. I'm undecided on whether or not I'll beat the DLC, as I already beat it years ago with my brother.
[imgt w=2048 h=1536]https://i.imgur.com/...[/imgt]
I loved it! This game is sooo much better than Pikmin 2, and it's even a contender for best Pikmin game. It gets back to Pikmin 1's RTS roots and runs with that premise, now with more controllable captains for multitasking and a brilliant mechanic for extending your in-game days if you're skilled enough. The areas are much larger, more detailed, and gorgeous to look at! The new Pikmin types, Rock and Winged, are well-balanced and very fun to use. (I do miss Purples from 2, but they were broken and appear in the multiplayer, anyway.) I expected Pikmin 3 to last me two weeks, but I had to force myself to put it down every evening, lest I beat it in two days!
It's definitely one of the Wii U's best games, and the Switch version apparently has even more content. I'll have to think about getting that version later. But first things first: Pikmin 4. July 21 can't come soon enough!

A few new clears:
#40: Golf (Game Boy) on Anbernic RG35XX. This clear gets me the Bo Knows badge alongside my previous clear of Drink More Glurp. The mechanics were a bit tricky for me, as I have very little experience with golf, but it got better once I figured out which clubs to use in each type of situation.
#41: Avenging Spirit (Game Boy) on Anbernic RG35XX. I would like to count this one toward the Hop 'n' Bop badge. The possession mechanic is pretty cool. Unique take on a platformer. The last boss' homing missiles were a pain in the neck before I realized how to use the platforms to avoid them.
#42: Serious Sam 4 on Xbox Series X. This clear gets me the BFFL badge alongside my previous clear of Dead Island 2. I beat this because it is about to leave Game Pass. It was...not great. It does get a bit better toward the end though when you start getting better weapons. The death ray upgrade for the laser gun is pretty fun.

I am happy to say I beat Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble (originally GBC) 100%.
[imgt w=1280 h=720]https://pbs.twimg.co...[/imgt]
Go play this right now, Switch owners! Nintendo actually took the time and effort to rerelease this forgotten Kirby spin-off with reproduced gyro controls. That's the first time ever! This is the definitive way to play it in this day and age; the GBC version has to played on non-backlit systems that run on AA batteries. Playing it on a GBA SP will reverse its controls because the cartridge is now backwards. Playing it on a GameCube with the Game Boy Player forces you to hold the GameCube backwards and tilt the console around like a GBC, but you also have to attach a Dance Pad and hit the A Button with your foot. It's stupidly convoluted, but that's this game's legacy... until now!
You roll Kirby around top-down levels by tilting, jump across cloudy platforms with the A Button, and leap into the air to defeat enemies. The stages blend together more than a lot of Kirby's spin-offs, but they make good use of gimmicks. From rafts that can surge across water to Balloons that grant you 15 seconds of flight, floors that only materialize when you hold down a certain button, and Blockbots that create/destroy floors as they walk, they know how to use the interesting mechanics to great effect. Since you're likely to fall into pits as you grasp the controls, there are a bunch of ways to get extra lives (find 1UPs scattered around, collect 50 Star Pieces, get a roulette, get a high enough total score, bump into two objects enough to turn invincible and destroy things, collect 6 red Star Pieces on one life and then get more, play sub-games, play bonus rooms, and land on the center of the goal ring). You'll definitely need them, especially in Extra Mode!
@sailorneorune Since you're a HAL fan, does that extend to Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble also? KTnT was developed by Nintendo R&D2, not HAL.
@Slickriven Last year, you counted KTnT toward Playing with Plastic since the cartridge had an accelerometer. The Switch version uses gyro controls, but there's no longer a gimmicky cartridge involved for it to meet the definition. Does it still count?

It's stupidly convoluted, but that's this game's legacy... until now!

@SupremeSarna The intension of Playing w/Plastic badge was to use non-traditional controllers, so Light Guns, the Tony Hawk board thing, DDR pad, Power Glove, plastic instruments, even racing wheels and the like. Since you used the gyros in the standard Switch joy-cons, I'd say that disqualifies it.
Initially I was thinking of the badge for only light gun games, but with modern TVs that was way too limited and difficult to use for many folks. I think it was Bleed_Duke that then suggested the expansion and I thought that was a solid idea and went with that.
Basically if you can, or more accurately are all but required to play a given game with non-mouse/KB and non-console-bundled standard controllers, then it counts. Thanks to the Wiimote being the standard of the Wii and gyro controls in that, the Wii-U and Switch, they would also be considered standard.
I mean it's your deal now and you might be able to twist my arm with the Wii-U's tablet controller being a bit unique, but I think you see the spirit of the badge.

I'll claim another title, 2nd of June, 36th overall
Daytona USA on
Won't claim for any badges
Beat this for the RTT GotM, but I'll be playing more of it for sure. I loved this in my youth as it was 1 of 4 games that came with my Saturn when I got it for Christmas '95. To count beat I beat all racers running the Beginner, Advanced and Expert tracks. I did the first 2 on standard difficulty and 'enemy level' but lowered those to very easy for the Expert track attempt. I will up that challenge and keep playing this some b/c it's fun and all the youthful memories are back, but I got the credits several times, so it's 'beat'.
If I end up setting better times and beat the tracks on their longer formats, maybe even the mirrored versions, I might seek to play the version and do the same and then claim them for that Facelift badge, but I would want to win more race variants on both console releases.

I beat Mega Man 3
[imgt w=640 h=480]https://i.imgur.io/d...[/imgt]
A great game, as expected from Mega Man. Some call this the best one, but I wouldn’t go that far. Rush was a fantastic addition to the formula, but Doc Robot adds needless filler. It feels less ramshackle than 5, and it doesn’t have two castles like 4 (or 5, for that matter), but I still prefer 6.

Already have any badges I can think it would apply towards
Looking to beat a few more GP titles after a few longer ones I was thinking about playing got marked for leaving. Heard mixed things about this one and yeah it was mixed for me too. Nothing terrible, but not much noteworthy in the positive column either. There's like 5 endings and they're pretty easy to get so I ended up spending ~10-20 extra mins at the end and earning them and going back and getting a few missed things so I ended up 'platinuming' it and uninstalled it. Strange title, obtuse a little like Kentucky Route Zero, only no where near as redeeming, oh well, good GP title I suppose, 2 sessions, a handful of hours and 100% done, moving on.

The Last of Us Part 1 Remake
Although I’m becoming burnt out of remakes and remasters alike, especially of one that already had a remaster several years ago, it still felt pretty damn good to experience this masterpiece in interactive storytelling with action/stealth mechanics again on a modern console. The revamped and re-recorded voice over lines felt impactful to the story as well as the updated graphics and framerate. I’d say I hope Part II gets the same treatment, but I didn’t really care for the sequel as much as the first entry.

It’s funny. I had the completely opposite experience. I thought Pt. 1 was good (but mostly because Factions is one of the best multiplayer games I’ve ever played), while Pt. 2 is probably my favorite game ever.

My #28 is Diablo IV.

Nowhere near done playing this, but I rolled credits on this game. Played as a fire sorc and it's pretty darn fun just setting everything on fire and watching it burn. Probably going to keep playing this character for awhile before moving on to a new one. 9/10

After a lot of tries, I beat PAC-MAN 99 .
[imgt w=1280 h=720]https://pbs.twimg.co...[/imgt]
This game is shutting down in October, so I felt compelled to win at least one more time. They can't get 99 players together for one match, which explains the upcoming closure. It's harder than I remembered, and Tetris 99 and (RIP) Super Mario Bros. 35 are much better, but I'll miss it regardless.

My #29 is Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds DLC.
Had done most of the side quests and main quest before Diablo came out, just jumped in for a little bit to finish things up. I like the new weapons, upgrades and machines in this DLC, although the story gets even more outlandish. 8/10

I'd love to claim for You're Winner b/c I hated it, but won't
Played this for Frank's GotM and without that selection, I would NOT have bothered to finish it. I disliked the PC port as it didn't look great and ran like crap with the PhysiX engine on, even though my PC should have been well beyond powerful enough to run it. I didn't like the controls, nor the first person perspective and the story was predictable and the game was way over-bright and oversaturated. Frustrating lack of direction, especially when you've being chased.
2/10 would be my score.

Beat Shock Troopers for the 3rd time today, still working towards 5 clears with it. I am, unsurprisingly getting better at it. This run I tried to use mostly the 3 female characters and saw the slightly different ending for the one lady. I beat it using only 8 credits and beat stage 1 without losing a single life. Now I've got all 3 main paths completed and 2 more runs to make.
