Oh wow. Well it helped me.... Not sure what to tell you at this point.
Odd ... I only renamed the .dll file, then later tried to delete, the app had it locked up. Had to kill the app manually, delete that .dll, and boom ... it's way better (but I also set my config per those instructions as well).
So far, so good. It's definitey smoother than the official app. On fast movement, it's still got a delay and feels like a compressed feed for sure, doesn't feel like it's a full 1080 nor 60fps, but it's still better - it removes the stutter that the official app has.

So ... Chiaki - performance is definitely better! Sadly, it doesn't like to re-launch sometimes. Unsure if it's me or not, but have to restart my computer as even a force close doesn't fix it.
That, and it doesn't appear that my touchpad works properly while in Chiaki vs. the official app. I'm using DSX to emulate a DualShock though being that the official app doesn't support DualSense.
Gotta mess with it a bit more.

I've had issues too. Always get some ctrl error.
To get around the controller thing, I use a dummy account for the Chiaki login. Then I log into my real account. From here you get an annoying pop up that says *remote play connected" at top. To get rid of this I go to System - Language and swap it to UK English then back to real English and it goes away.
This lets me use a controller connected to the Ps5. You're just logged into two profiles at once with this work around.

I finally got Chiaki to work! I used the trinket site for the ID instead of the new one and then made sure which characters were zeroes and which were Os.

I played Life Is Strange on Steam back in 2017 and really enjoyed it but have not played any of the other games in the series and I'm looking to change that.
I guess there is LiS: Before The Storm, LiS 2 and LiS: True Colors that have released since then. Does the save data from each game carry over to the next game like The Walking Dead games did? If not then I'll probably continue the series on PlayStation.

No. They are not connected like that. They are all stand alone games. Although Before the Storm is a prequel to the first game.

Good to know. LiS: Before The Storm is getting added to the PS+ Extra/Premium game catalog tomorrow, so I'll start with that one.

What in the actual hell is Sony doing? Instead of solving a problem they made another one. Are they releasing the drive because future revisions just won't have an optical internal drive option? If it doesn't work with the dozens of millions of digital consoles already purchased this is basically a repair part. Only good for consoles released after the September revision...
Jesus Christ. What a fudgeup.

haha, how do you fudge up incompatibility of an optical drive? That doesn't make any sense

Games don't run off the disc, they get installed from my experience. So even if the ports on the current models aren't fast enough to move data it shouldn't matter.
My guess is that this is intentional. They want a sexy slim SKU as the only model available at a cheaper price. Then the add-on. But they don't want people to have the behemoth
+ another box as we all know the jokes will be flying.

"potentially" - "rumored"
I wouldn't get all jacked about it until we actually know something, otherwise it kinda looks like click bait.

I really enjoyed all the Life is Strange games. I don't mind walking simulators if the story is intriguing enough. So these games, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, Detroit: Become Human, all of Supermassive Games stuff (Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology, The Quarry) are all games I enjoy.
I have yet to play The Devil in Me.

How is the Ratchet & Clank series?
I received Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart for Christmas but other than a brief demo that I barely remember of the first game 20 years ago I haven't played any of this series before. I am kinda-sorta considering playing through the entire series via PS+ Premium before I open the PS5 game I got. But there are more games in this series than I thought, so before I commit to that I wanna know have these older games aged well? Are the controls and camera troublesome like when trying to revisit Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine? Does this sound like a dumb idea and I should just go straight to the PS5 game?

Visually impressive, easy to play and very tight. I don’t like it because it’s boring to me. I’m minority on that.

I don’t usually like games like Rift Apart, but it was very good. The controls are a lot tighter and the cameras are a lot better than Mario 64 for sure. I’ve never played Sunshine, so I couldn’t compare there.

I’ve only played and beaten the PS4/PS5 ones but I loved them
Probably won’t get around to playing the originals though

I think I've played them all, starting with ps2. It's hard to say if it's worth going back. I recall really liking the original games, but maybe they would seem dated. Most of the games have similar gameplay and they are not especially short. It may be too much to try to play them all back-to-back.

I’ll echo this. Love ‘em. Just plain and simple platforming action. Rift apart was really cool too with traversing those dimensions.
