Missed him, he closed the store early today, it's a shop out in the middle of the nowhere so it's still there (85% sure) and I'll try again tomorrow

Received an auction I won for some choose your own adventure books. I loved these as a kid. Hoping my oldest will be able to read them soon enough. I have been keeping an eye out for these at thrift stores for years, and amazingly enough I've never actually seen one in the wild. Crazy considering the series lasted nearly 200 editions and had a re-release. I paid less than $2.50 per book shipped. Anymore that's a decent price on paperbacks, and they were in like new shape.

The first (technically) Choose-Your-Adventure book I remember reading was some official Nintendo book from a local library years ago. Normally I'm not much of a book person, but I was enthralled with it.

Ah memories, I enjoyed C-Y-A books as a kid, holding your finger on your current page to 'preview' your 2 choices was fun. I'm sadly not much of a reader now, so I imagine I read more of those books than almost any other series/set/type, even text books.

Thought I had a better deal, but only so due to condition values. I probably shoulda sensed he needed money, but I couldn't pick up, and wanted it delivered. Had it for $120, than $100, than $80, but the first time I saw it, he already had 120 to 100 and it wasn't a day even lol. Anyways, at $80, I proposed fairly, $75 for the lot, and $10 for delivery. He says he's meeting a friend down here, either way, he was willing. Here's what I got:

Unfortunately, I was going to ask about the condition of nfs underground and return to castle wolfenstein, but didn't. The NFS underground game is missing the top flap to the box. Real bummer, I thought I had $50 there. $40 in return to castle wolf. and 20 games, that even at $5 a piece rounded, would be $100 profit. And I could sit at home and list lol. On a positive note, the starcraft game is the shareware version, so prob a $25 profit right there, over the regular version but the one I have listed now hasn't even sold.
Good deal, or just barely. I dunno, the flap bums me out, but half life, I just sold one locally for $22 in a lot with other things. I saw prices have gone cheaper on the original version of Half Life, but I sold the first one I had at $34 CAD + shipping on ebay minus fees. But I really don't have too much money, and I'm borrowing making deals but not selling. What's up with the economy, play some games lol

I found one of these in the back of a drawer in the fridge:

I had put it there awhile back on purpose, so that I'd find it sometime. Luckily nobody else had eaten it.
A pretty good find :)

Spirited Away is one of my favorites. Definitely worth owning! I got my copy on a day of thrifting as well.

Haven't seen that one. I have seen the main two (Totoro and Spirited) as well as a handful of others and didn't care for any.
