Doesn't look like there's a discussion thread for PS4, unless I'm blind. Let's discuss PS4, then, in this thread.

Recent news: according to Kotaku, Gamestop is no longer taking preorders for the system. Hope you got your preorder in!

If anyone isn't watching the Hot Deals forum, there is a $3 off ebay code that is good today: PERKS4ME

Has anyone ever tried buying one of the PS Plus trial account bundles from any sellers on there? Supposedly (and the sellers show huge amounts of perfect feedback) they send you 6 accounts with a 14-day trial on each. Log into it like a gameshare account and set it to primary and then use the 14 days from each one. So nearly 3 months of Plus for minimal cost. Wondering how it actually works though. If the trial on an account is already active, then how can the 14 days still be available in full? And if it isn't active until I log in and start it, then how does it not need a credit card added for each account?

Anyone tried this before?

What's the consensus with Days Gone on here? Every review I watch/read says something completely different. Half say the story sucks and world rocks, half say the world sucks and story rocks. Is it worth $60?
Honestly as much fun as I'm having with Days Gone, and besides all the glitches and stuff within the game, there's a mediocrity in some of the gameplay where you've been there and done it before, that will warrant me to suggest waiting for a price drop of $40 or below. It has a good story in there sure, but it's convoluted and lost in translation as the game tends to jump around a lot and loses focus at times as you traverse the landscape and other things pop up that overshadow the tale it is trying to tell. It's like the game has A.D.D. or something. If I had a demo of the game prior to buying it, I would have gone back in time and stopped myself from buying it day 1 and wait for a sale.

Oath is still the best by a lot imo.

I'm guessing IX will have flash guard again, which makes the game rather boring imo. I'll watch trailers with gameplay though, to hope against hope.

Interesting to read about Platinum games leaning towards going self-publishing. I thought Ninty was going to pretty much buy them outright. Now I am kinda worried about future Platinum projects since they won't have funding they need to make quality games, unless another publisher backs them.

it did say there will still be collaborations with big publishers, they may just move to self publish their own smaller projects

I'm sure they'll continue to work with Nintendo. Those two have an excellent working relationship. I'd also expect more collaborations with Square after the success of Nier Automata.

Ah I see. That's okay then. So long as big hitters like Bayonetta 3 are given the proper TLC it deserves to not end up like their lesser known projects like The Legend of Korra and/or TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan. EESH lol

Unpopular Opinion: Platinum has only ever made one good game. They are the most over hyped developer on the internet.

Not sure about just one but I actually mostly agree with this. For you, what is the one game?

Yeah, Automata was great. To me all their other games are just average games. Nothing special about them. I almost didn't play Automata because they made it. I didn't play it until Heavy and a couple others on here were talking about it. After that I knew I had to try it, and was glad I did.

I actually liked Vanquish a lot, and Bayonetta is a guilty pleasure though not a top tier action game. Transformers: Devastation was a bit too short but otherwise good. Those are definitely my favorites from them and I wouldn't put any of them in my personal top 100.

Bayonetta, Nier Automata and Transformers Devastation for me. The trifecta.

Maybe I'm still in the honey moon phase, but I like Days Gone alot. Yah it borrows mechanics, yah it has similar clunky gunplay as Last of Us, yah its "zombies" ... but dammit, it's fun and has an interesting story, which at the end of the day, is really all I care about. Plus it is quite a looker at certain times of the day with the lighting and the fog, and the sound design is pretty solid, with a great soundtrack. While it may not do too many unique things, it does what it does well for the most part, and is relaxing to play to me. I do not regret getting it. yes

I'd say it's Rockstar. Nothing they make interests me.

Don't like either now that you mention it. I also don't like Batman that much. That IP doesn't interest me.
