Great deal. Congrats to those who got it. No units available around me so I won’t be partaking. Probably for the best since I barely have time to play the systems and games I have currently.

I know what you mean. I'm struggling to play games these days and I'm feeling more motivated to do non gaming things. This is the 5th PS5 that I've bought and I've still yet to play anything on the PS5. I'm on the fence if I'll keep this. I want to play Spider-Man 2 at some point and the next part of the FF7 remake.

I would zen out and either keep and never use it or pass it on to someone who wants to play it right now. My XBOX Series X is like that. It just sits there. I finally decided to gift it to my son.

I eventually own (and play) every system in a console generation at some point. My first one was a launch day preorder that I gave to my sister-in-law to gift to her kids for Christmas. The next one I traded straight up for a Halo Edition Series X that I've had tons of use out of. The next two were Spider-Man LEs, I was going to keep one and flip the other, but I decided to just return them. Now this one.
Now that I have a young kid, finding the time to play is hard. I have about a dozen games that I'm in the middle of that I should focus on finishing and a few dozen in the backlog that I want to play, so adding on another system doesn't help my cause, haha.

Between family stuff and work there’s not a ton of time to game especially on multiple systems. I was out of gaming for years so there’s a massive number of games that I’ve never played so I don’t necessarily have to have the latest and greatest. I have a Series S w/Game Pass Ultimate and a SNES Mini. I also have an Anbernic RG353M. Between those three systems there are a ridiculous number of games I have available. I’ve told myself that if I can’t find time to play all the stuff I have there’s no point in buying more systems no matter how tempted I get. It’s just a waste of money and space.

Eh, it and Xbox Series lack "next-gen" games. This generation has been a massive flop.

Fantastic deal, but I didn't even consider trying to get one. Even if I had been at Target and an employee would have walked over to me holding a PS5 and asking if I wanted to buy it for $349.99, I wouldn't have bought it.
These days, I find that I don't game nearly as much as I used to. And the gaming that I do is typically on a Switch. I don't think I can currently squeeze in PS5 gaming time.

The Xbox sure, maybe. As it’s really lacking with next gen games. But ps5 has tons of really good “next gen” games

Curious to know what you mean by this. Are you referring to PS5 exclusives? I only have an Xbox so I'm wondering what I'm missing in terms of a next gen experience.

@Staraang You aren't missing anything. Like last gen there are minor performance differences in multi-platform games. Expandable storage is cheaper for PS5. Game Pass is better than PS+. Exclusives and controller differences are down to personal preference. I personally have a PS5 and am not interested in an Xbox, but they're both solid gaming devices.

I enjoy having a Series X for Game Pass and Xbox exclusives, but the major benefit of the PS5 to me over Xbox is VR.

PS5 has a bunch of quality console exclusives, yup. Some first-party, some third. Some which may be timed and could head to Xbox eventually.
The first year or two was a lot of "next-gen versions of PS4 games," but that has tailed off.
Where Microsoft has struggled is AAA third party stuff, for sure, and that's partly because of the hole they dug last gen. Their indie garden is great, but indie titles tend not to lean as hard into "next gen features," which can make the Series consoles just feel like a face-lift for the Xbox One.
