what do you get besides no ads... though even just that is nice and i hate how yt music has to have phone screen on

The no ads is great and also having the option to download videos to watch offline. I didn't take advantage of that until recently for my little girl. YT Music isn't bad. I actually prefer it because it has bigger catalog of music than spotify. Btw... you can listen to music with the phone screen off. Hope that explanation helps.

I run a group as well, another perk, at least for me, I started with Google music, is if participants are on Android then you can share purchased apps as well as any purchased YouTube movies/content.

Ya id like to be able to use YT music with the screen off, that would be super at work. and no ads. curious if it would extned to the brand account linked to my main one, will report if it does.

it does work on a brand account linked to your main as well!
