I'd say do it now if it's still available. Will easily be worth what you paid it even if you sell it used, down the road.

Could always keep the receipt and return it later if you decide against it, unless you don't have the finances. Then I wouldn't recommend doing that.

Went tonight grabbed $10 eshop ($5 pro reward monthly) and asked about the preorder was $50 for the console so I didnt ordered it. I just opened a 2nd Animal Crossing Console in the past 2 weeks. Sounds like the Zelda Console isnt Limited may pop in and out like the Pokemon/Splatoon 3 OLED. I may be better off stalking @DarkFact post/topics when he sells his Zelda OLED after a few weeks of owning it for like $300

The Zelda OLED has been on Amazon and Target for the past few days. And now Wal-Mart has it. So at least their consoles have been easy to get.

I never understood the interest in getting a 2nd system just because it's a different color or has a design. You can have a switch and a used PS5/XSX or....2 switches that are, uh, different colors.

I like the 2nd switch for shared digital. My wife takes the switch over for Tetris 99 Pacman 99 and now Frogger. I dont even leave joycons on it as she only wants to use the pro controller.
Personally I would like to play more PS5 but it is on that same TV. I busted out the 3DS and was enjoying it so decided to hookup the 2nd switch.
On the switch colors, to each there own. I do like Zelda so it temps me to get the New Zelda OLED. We will see if I can hold off.

I've got 20+ games on my wish list (mostly metroidvania and rogue like games), and I'm not seeing sales on my most wanted, and a couple have received just a little discount. I think axiom verge 2 was discounted from $19.99 to $15.99 a few weeks ago, and now rogue legacy 2 is offered for just 15% off from $24.99 to $21.24. Dang, at least give 25-35% off.

So my kid is getting much more into Nintendo and ... the switching between console is a pain in the ass.
I have a regular Switch, and a Lite. I have both of us on both accounts with Nintendo online accounts.
All the eShop purchases are under my account. He can play the game on the primary Switch under his own account, but when attempting to use his account on the secondary (Lite) console - it doesn't let him.
Is this expected or is there some other bullcrap workaround I need to do?
Really feels like this needs to be more seamless in 2023!

On the primary system for the profile that downloaded the game, you can play under any profile.
On any other system (non-primary), you can only play under the specific profile that owns the content, AND it will check the internet to verify.
