Other thread died. Playoffs about to happen. Not a ton of seeding drama outside of a couple games. Chiefs pissed away the 1 seed, although it was entertaining. Chargers-Raiders interesting. Rams-9rs. AB is a nut job. Anywho...
Thoughts on current awards lines (this is if you understand money lines)... I see what I think is a fairly low risk bet. Rodgers is currently -400 for MVP. National media is pushing hard for Rodgers being unanimous MVP. I think Brady has a chance, but Rodgers ain't doing anything to hurt his case this weekend, and Brady ain't setting records or taking the 1 seed. Enter my #2 guy, Kupp. He's likely winning the triple crown, and could beat CJ's single season yardage record. A $100 bet on Rodgers covers any losses on a $30 bet on Kupp. Rodgers wins, you get pocket change. Kupp wins you win a few hundred. Brady wins and you lose. Taylor has an outside chance, but he's not breaking any records or the 2000 yard mark in a 17 game season. The other bet, which might be better is bet 30 on Kupp for MVP and 100 for OpotY. He wins the triple crown and he should get one of them. Only think stopping him is if Chase gets 3 more TDs than Kupp, or Taylor has a historic game.
I budget $100 each season for bets. Haven't placed any this season. Thoughts from any casual betters?
(Also intend for this to be the general NFL thread for the post season.. not just betting thoughts though that's welcome)
Edit: Generic betting disclaimer: Bet for fun, don't bet what you can't lose, seek help if you have a problem, any thoughts in this thread are not representative of GameTZ or @Bill (lest he states something), this is not intended as financial advice., etc.

Wtg Jags! Nobody wanted to see the Titans in again. Now can we get the Lions? Not likely with Seattle in front of them.
I'm glad the Chiefs got the 1 seed and the bye, but it doesn't feel earned this year. AFC is going to be fun for years.
Edit: Houston about to give the Bears the first pick in the draft.
Edit 2: Houston Brass - "Nah"

Nuk reportedly on the trading block. Maybe wait for the new coach before leaking that?

Tua ruled out, so Buffalo did get a bye!
Lamar not practicing. Be interesting to see if he shows and plays last minute... will be telling whether this is about the injury or the contract.

Those 4 first half interceptions weren't all on Lawrence but damn it felt like 2021 Lawrence was on the field. Now it's off to KC next weekend .

I had a guy come out on Friday to give me an estimate for some minor house repairs. While he was out here, he said, "I'm sorry to see that you're a 49ers fan." He had noticed a couple of the Niners items I have in my house. We joked back and fourth a little bit, all in good fun. On his way out, he made a parting comment about how the Niners were going to lose. The funny thing is that I agreed to have him do the repair work, so when he shows up on Thursday, I'm not going to say a word about the game. I am, however, going to be dawning a Niners jersey. At some point I will offer him a glass of water, which, if he accepts, will be presented in a Niners cup. I'm gonna have a little fun with this.

Purdy is on another level right now..defense does what they do and dominate the second half (only giving up a garbage time td when they were up by 24). Most complete team.. cant wait for next week.
Oh, and jags dont play chiefs unless bills and Bengals both win..

Valiant effort by the fins. All else equal they could have won that with Teddy or Tua, not that Skyler was bad. Looked like a hamstrung offense.

Some Bengels sounding like douchebags. Going to the AFC championship game and they are whining the nfl presold tickets for the neutral site game, which they also did for a Bengels home AFC championship game. Others saying Mahomes better be 100% (which there is no way he can) as they don't want any excuses. (WtF? You've beaten them 3 times in a row) Burrow saying they are contendors as long as he is there.
I was happy for them last year, would have been happy to see them win it all. If I had to bet I'd bet on them to win on Sunday as I think they have more talent all around. Pretty annoyed by them at this point. Taking the Brady approach to take any possible warped perceived knock as the world is against them. (Sorry Brady fans... could have equally said Jordan) They are a great team, but they are sufferring a bit from little dog syndrome.
Can't wait to here this pregame...
"We was called little dogs, but we the Bengels!"
Reporter "So your not little dogs, your giant furocious cats?"
Bengels players "reporters all calling us big pussies! Disrespectful!"
Edit: Also gg to the Jags, and (after last season) this was a great season for the franchise! Things are looking up, and be interesting to see what the offseason brings for that division.

Yeah it’s hard to root for teams that have a history of dirty players and culture . Same for the ravens, can never root for them either

You're pretty much describing the AFC North. Steelers are the same way.

I'm so excited/anxious about this Eagles/Niners game. I really think this one could go either way. I think it's great that the two best teams in the NFC are facing off. I'm expecting a low scoring affair, but my biggest concern is Hurts. We've gotta keep him in the pocket and make him beat us with his arm.
