Currently has a May 12 2023 release date. That's just over 4 months away. That's not so far, but there isn't that much known about it.

Here's a video that has the reveal trailer and other info that has so far been released.

https://youtu.be/30D...

Is it unusual for such an anticipated title that's only several months away to not have much known about it?

I don't usually follow games along their pre-release stages, so perhaps a lack of info is standard.

Personally, I'd rather a lack of info when it comes to games that I plan on playing. I don't care for spoilers, or to watch every trailer that comes out.

I'd have thought there'd be more out about it though. But again, I don't usually follow along with the progress of game development.

Definitely a game I'm looking forward to though.

Whoever mentioned the Lightning Temple earlier, your sage/companion is human at that point and limited to her own abilities. The puzzle you need to solve is how to get her to the area so she can use her ability to help you. It's actually a great temple.

That was me. She popped in all the time in her human form. Anytime I flew beyond her reach she popped in. Just not in 1 area.

I really didn't like the lead into the lightning temple sans the one fight mainly cause I liked the design of the enemy (other than that the fight itself was meh).

Favorite build up: Water temple. The quests and platforming were great.

Worst build up: Lightning temple. Quests were meh and finding the temple was boring.

Favorite temple: Wind temple. Puzzles were decent and the sage seemed more useful.

Worst temple: Water temple. With the wind sage to assist, it felt way too easy to navigate.

Favorite boss: Lightning temple. Battle was challenging enough and the use of the sage helper was very relevant.

Worst boss: Wind temple. Really didn't need the sage for this one, just a good position and some patience.

Since it didn't come up in any of the lists above: Fire temple was decent, but not very memorable. Boss battle was probably the easiest of them all. Build up was not great, but it was the only temple to include the depths.

Just took on the coliseum and had a blast beating them. Definitely a major highlight of the game for me. Didn’t cheese them either.

As far as the temples I’d probably rank them like this

1. Lightning
2. Wind
3. Water
4. Fire

I hated everything about the fire temple. The lead up, the character and the temple itself was just not fun for me. Wind and lighting are close as I preferred the theme of wind, but lightning was just a lot of fun overall. The water temple was cool and the boss was actually fun but it felt too short

#1 Wind
#2 The Rest

Sage I use the most Wind.
Sage I use the most while fighting Fire would be Lightening but she is no wimp and goes hand to hand combat. Have to run her down.
Sage that seems to get in the way Fire, dude is always in the bidness. I launch him sometimes just to get him away.
Sage I go out of my way to use to save his feelings, Water. All Sages are important.

I got all three stamina wheels and beat all of the temples before getting any extra hearts. I'd much rather the game be a little harder than not be able to climb something I want to climb.

That's what my kids are doing, but they have no upgraded armor or elixirs. When it comes to boss battles I make them try them 5 times before handing it off (if they make no progress).

I beat all of the colosseums today. I have most of the armor, although I still have a long way to go to upgrade most of it. I have around 130 shrines and probably close to 90% of the depths unlocked. I still have a ton of side quests to finish. I feel like I'm getting to my end. I am still loving every second of it, but the rest might become really grindy.

I have 8 shrines left in the sky islands, but I'm 6 hearts shy of max health. I read you can't get max stamina and health, but I thought it maxed out at 38 hearts with full stamina. I'll be at 36 hearts after the last shrine. I believe I got all temple hearts, and I got the one in the depths. Were there any others tied to side quests?

I have all major armor sets sans rubber. I'm missing a ton of the bonus armor from previous games. I duped to max out most of them as there was no way in hell I was going to do it legit. You'd have to kill dozens of each of the biggest baddies to fully upgrade many armors. If I recall correctly one armor set alone required 35 of the same Gleeok part. No thanks.

Patch 1.2.0 out. It patched out some of the dupe glitches from my understanding, like the autobuilding meat in cold weather.

General Updates
- By starting the game from within certain articles released on a specific Switch News channel (accessed via the HOME Menu) players can receive a number of in-game items.

- Depending on the state of gameplay progression or the location in which the data is reopened, there may be cases in which the items cannot be received.

Additional Fixes
- Fixed an issue where players could not progress beyond a certain point in the main quests “A Mystery in the Depths” and “Secret of the Ring Ruins”, the side adventures “Hateno Village Research Lab” and “Lurelin Village Restoration Project”, the shrine quest “Dyeing to Find It”, and the side quests “Village Attacked by Pirates”, “The Incomplete Stable”, and “Seeking the Pirate Hideout”. Downloading the update will allow players to proceed past that point.

- Fixed an issue preventing fairies from appearing under certain conditions when they originally should have appeared.

- Fixed an issue preventing the meals provided by Kiana of Lurelin Village from changing under certain conditions.

- Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience

Anyone know how exactly that "open game from the News Channel articles" thing works? I don't really understand the language they used.

Think I'm gonna go for the ending this weekend and finally beat the game. I've been trying to put it off but I just feel the drive to finally finish it, what with Pikmin 4 and some other games coming out in the coming months.

They did this with BotW. A new post in the TotK news may have something like a recipe for an in-game dish. That post will also have a button to launch the game. If you launch the game from that post, a treasure chest (IIRC) will pop up in your game with the ingredients for that recipe. Suff like that.

I have been ready to beat this for weeks now, but I don't want it to end.

Zelda is waiting for me in the final spot at Hyrule Castle.

I just can't bring myself to do it. I have 141 shrines, only around 5 lightroots left to discover, most of the armor, hundreds of koroks, even about half of the extra bubbul gems (which I have no intention of completing). I've beaten every major boss and mini boss including all of the colosseums. I still need hundreds of items to upgrade my armor, but I could play for another 100 hours and not get all of that stuff. It's time, but I don't want it to end. I highly doubt I will ever play this one again. I played BotW through twice. I've already put in around 170 hours on this one, so I could never start over.

Question, what is your end game goal? Is anyone trying for 100% (I don't even think it's possible)? What is your personal 100% (if that makes sense)? I want all shrines, all lightroots discovered, all armor, full hearts, and enough koroks to fully upgrade my inventory.

All shrines (6 shy), towers (done), light roots (done), full stamina (done), max hearts w full stamina (4 shy... I think I'm missing 2 somewhere aside from shrines), all temples (done), all armor with environmental perks (2 pieces shy), upgrade said armor, all mini bosses with unique drops required for armor upgrades, dupe 30 of all strong/rare fuse items I have after everything else.

I'll pass on Koroks/maxing out item slots for now; never did that in either BotW playthrough. Also bubblegems. My personal opinion is "completing" this game is to unlock all maps, and finish all shrines/temples.

This, plus upgrading all armor to the highest level.

So exploring the sky islands I hover biked and glided to a distant high island. My reward? A King Gleeok. Figured now is as good a time as any to take on my first Gleeok. Tough fight. Blew through a ton of Keese eyeballs
