WS-116332-6 Error code, reported as "Lost" to Sony.
Functions fine for offline play, but no online capabilities with the PSN Store.

What good would that do? It's not like Sony sends them a replacement. That's a lot of work for nothing

Saying "lost" makes people more likely to contact Sony to try to resolve it.
A message saying "stolen" would get people to call the police.

Never heard of this, but quick Google says it's more so that someone was banned, not necessarily stolen. Would think it's tied to username, not physical hardware (MAC?).
Did you call them to validate why it was banned?
Anyway, looks like you can appeal it. Do you have any type of receipt or proof of purchase? This has to be a common scenario to Sony.

I'm just looking to see if anyone wants it for either parts or just to have in their collection, or whatever people do with these when they're barred from the PSN and online stuff...

I wonder if you can call up support and say you bought it secondhand from a pawn shop, maybe they can put in some sort of waiting period. It seems really stupid to me that you could sell a PS5, then for some reason call up Sony and tell them it was lost and they'd just block it indefinitely off the network. If you've got proof of purchase, I don't really see a reason for them to just blacklist it forever.
Sorry I know this is off topic but I'm legitimately blown away by this concept. I'll behave. What were you thinking of selling it for?

$300 shipped would cover what I have in it.

Can this still get updates? So like the only thing that wouldn't work is always online titles, right? Or if FF16 had a weird "needs to check into servers before playing" thing. Like Doom Classic had for a while

Like Doom Classic had for a whileI would imagine so? It’s currently up to date on firmware, but there hasn’t been an update release to test that. It can still connect to WiFi, just not to PSN.

Could I still earn trophies on my PSN account (if I played the GOW campaign, for example) or is it strictly offline play with no PSN benefits?
